The late Ronald J. Rosenberg, Esq. (1954-2023) founded Rosenberg Calica & Birney LLP with the goal of creating a group of professionals who would serve their clients with uncompromising excellence and deliver effective advocacy. He took great pride in the firm and the legal team he helped assemble. The firm remains recognized by clients and colleagues as the “go to” regional law firm for difficult and complex litigation and transactions. He personified the firm’s goals and his leadership has ensured that when clients demand and deserve results, they will continue to turn to Rosenberg Calica & Birney LLP and its team of skilled attorneys to help them achieve their goals.

His legacy includes a law firm that continues to offer a wealth of experience in all areas of commercial and civil litigation, including real estate, corporate, appellate and estate litigation, as well as transactions and leasing, corporate law, land use, and zoning matters.

His law firm partners Robert Calica and William Birney have said, “If you knew Ron Rosenberg you knew he was a fighter. He fought to preserve the integrity of the law. He fought on behalf of his clients. He fought to advance issues crucial to our democracy. And he fought to improve the lives of people who were important to him.”

Ron served on the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct and was a trustee at Nassau Community College. He was a graduate of Hofstra University and St. John’s University School of Law.

A long time friend and political confidante, Joseph G. Cairo, Jr., Chairman of the Nassau County Republican Committee, stated, “Keen of intellect and sound in reason, Ron Rosenberg possessed one of the greatest legal minds. Gifted in both rhetoric and the written word, I marveled at his discourse on complex political matters and devoured the “pearls of wisdom” contained in his occasional newspaper columns. Most important, however, Ron Rosenberg was my close friend, and he was a good person of the highest moral character.”

Ron will be greatly missed, but his legacy is found in the strength, character, and commitment to the law that remain at the core of Rosenberg, Calica & Birney LLP.
